Bring HowToRefer to your hospital
HowToRefer gives clinicians one searchable place to find out how to refer to every service in their hospital. No more digging through Word documents, WhatsApp chats or the intranet. If you'd like to explore setting it up for your hospital, I'd love to hear from you.
What is HowToRefer?
A single source of truth for your hospital's referral pathways
Knowing how to refer a patient shouldn't depend on who happens to be on the ward. HowToRefer is a directory of referral pathways, kept accurate by the clinicians who use it, so the right answer is always a quick search away.
- One place to look
- Rather than searching through Word documents, WhatsApp chats, asking around the ward or navigating the intranet, clinicians get a single directory to search.
- Up-to-date pathways
- Feedback from the clinicians using the platform flags referral pathways that have gone out of date, so they can be fixed quickly.
- Easy to use
- Designed to be quick to use on a busy shift, and works on any device with a web browser: ward computers, tablets or phones.
- Secure by design
- Only referral pathway guidance is stored, never patient data. Registration is limited to NHS.net email addresses, and hospitals can make their pathways private to verified users.
